The Ennis-based legal director of Rape Crisis Network Ireland believes increased faith in the Gardaí is leading to more convictions for sexual offences.
It follows figures released in the Court Service Annual Report – which show there were 545 convictions for rape and sexual assault cases last year.
It marks a 40% rise on the previous year’s figure.
