Swimming is prohibited at a beach in County Clare until Wednesday at the earliest.
Bathing restrictions are in place at Kilkee beach following heavy rainfall over the weekend leading to the possibility of elevated levels of bacteria in the water.
The HSE has advised Clare County Council to put the restrictions in place until the results of water quality tests come back on Wednesday.

Tests were carried out today and swimmers will be advised of when they can re-enter the water once the results are deemed by the HSE to be within bathing water quality limits.
