Nurses say there has been a dip in the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital today.
But new figures from the INMO show University Hospital Limerick remains the busiest in the country with 37 people waiting for beds this morning, 18 of those in the new emergency department.
A further 18 are being accommodated in overflow areas of wards.
