Ireland’s Women’s Rugby Team Beat Japan In World Cup Second Round

Ireland overcame a massive scare yesterday to make it two wins from two in the Women’s Rugby World Cup.

Tom Tierney’s side trailed Japan 14-nil at the break, but produced a much improved display in the second half to win out 24-14.

They’ll next play France on Thursday with a win guaranteeing them a semi-final place.

Kilmihil’s Eimear Considine might return to the squad for the French clash after missing out on the team to play Japan.

She started the opening game against Australia and was one of seven changes to Tierney’s team before the Japanese game, as he looked to rest some players.
