All elective surgeries have been cancelled at University Hospital Limerick as officials there look to deal with the latest bout of overcrowding.
The INMO says there were 69 patients on trolleys at Dooradoyle this morning, one of the highest numbers it has ever recorded in its daily Trolleywatch statistics.
Management says this number reduced to 52 by noon, and has appealed for the public to keep the E.D. for emergencies only.
