Number Of School Break-Ins Becoming A “Worrying Trend” Says O’Brien

An East Clare councillor has described the number of break-ins at schools around the county as “a worrying trend”.

It comes after two hooded men attempted to break into a shed at Ballina National School near Killaloe overnight, in what Gardaí believe was an attempt to disarm the alarm.

A number of burglaries have also been carried out in schools around Clare, including at Spanish Point, over the past few months.

Killaloe Fianna Fáil Councillor Tony O’Brien says these criminals are brazen:

Anyone with information on last night’s attempted break-in can contact Killaloe Gardaí on 061 376 242.
