It’s feared that controversial comments about rape by broadcaster George Hook could deter victims from coming forward.
The broadcaster, and his employer Newstalk, have both apologised after Hook suggested that a woman who was allegedly raped while drunk had put herself in danger.
At least one sponsor has pulled support from his programme as a result.

Ennis-based Sarah Clancy was sexually assaulted over 25 years ago – the man responsible is currently serving a jail term for his crimes.
Speaking today on Clare FM’s Morning Focus, she urged other victims to speak out and seek justice.
