There’s speculation of a major jobs boost for Shannon.
It’s reported that car manufacturer Jaguar is on the verge of setting up a new base in the town, having scouted locations in the area and in Limerick City, including a 50,000 foot office development in the Shannon Free Zone.
It’s understood the facility will provide support for Jaguar, which is headquartered in Coventry in the UK, while staff will assist in the development of the manufacturer’s new self-driving cars.

The Limerick Leader reports that 30 jobs would be created at first, but that this figure would grow into the hundreds.
Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill spoke to Minster of State at the Department of Jobs, Pat Breen who gave little away, but revealed that talks have been taking place:
