The Cratloe-based general secretary of the ICSA claims the trebling of stamp duty is a savage attack on farmers.
The Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers Association wants to see farmers excluded from the new rate of 6 percent – up from 2 percent before the Budget.
While the Agriculture Minister initially said it wouldn’t apply to farm land, it has since been confirmed that it will.
