Calls are being made in Clare for Pope Francis to host a mass in Cusack Park on his visit to Ireland next year.
His Holiness is expected to come to this country at some stage in 2018 – becoming the first Pontiff to set foot on Irish soil since John Paul II’s historic 1979 visit.
Pope Francis will likely fly into Dublin and have a whistlestop tour of the country, as his predecessor did almost 40 years ago.
