Lahinch GP Concerned Over Delayed Rehab For Brain Injury Sufferers

A West Clare GP fears delayed rehab for people who suffer serious brain injuries is having an enormous impact on their quality of life.

The Dáil has heard over 25,000 Irish people each year struggle to access neurorehabilitation to prevent disability and support recovery from conditions including stroke, acquired brain injury and Parkinson’s disease.

Fianna Fáil is calling on the government to acknowledge that Ireland lags behind our EU counterparts in care for these patients and to urgently address the matter.
