A Ennis councillor is calling for dog owners’ PPS numbers to be included in their pet’s microchips.
Mary Howard says a number of local farming groups have raised concerns over the persistant problem of dog attacks on their farms.
Though it’s compulsory now for a dog to be microchipped, the chip may identify the dog’s address but when a family moves, that information is not carried over.
