The show opened with a discussion of the future of the confidence and supply agreement. Fianna Fáil’s Deputy Timmy Dooley told Gavin the pact won’t hold beyond the Budget unless more is done to tackle the issues of health and homelessness. Senator Martin Conway of Fine Gael responded, saying the government was doing all its power on these matters.

Easing traffic in Ennis was the next topic for discussion when Gavin was joined in studio by Independent Cllr James Breen, who is proposing a link road between Francis Street, The Temple Gate Hotel and Dunnes.

After that, Joe Arkins of Comhaltas Ceoilteorí Éireann joined Gavin in his capacity as Chair of Fleadh na Mumhan. The Munster Fleadh comes to Ennis from July 15 to 22.

Support for those with hearing loss was the next topic for discussion with Gavin chatting to Alona Troy of Deaf Hear. The organisation runs drop in clinics at the Parish Centre at Ennis Cathedral Road on the third Wednesday of every month from 10am-1pm.

With the BT Young Scientist and Technology exhibition underway, Gavin caught up with groups from St Joseph’s Secondary School, Spanish Point, and Mary Immaculate in Lisdoonvarna. Listen back below:

Ceara Conway of Clare County Council’s Arts Office was Gavin’s next guest. She’s the coordinator of ‘Embrace’ a project to include people with special needs in the arts. She told Gavin about the ‘Hope Flies’ project – a collaboration between artist Shona MacGillivray and the National Learning Network. A sculpture which was created by participants is now on display at the Civic Offices on Wood Quay in Dublin as part of the First Fortnight Festival.

As always on a Wednesday, vet John Underhill dropped into studio with advice on care for livestock and pets. Listen back below:
