The region’s main hospital is beginning the week as the most overcrowded in the country once again.
The latest figures from the INMO show 54 patients were waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 40 of those in the emergency Department.
It’s more than a dozen more than the next busiest facility – Galway University Hospital – where 39 people are waiting to be admitted.

It comes on a day when 543 people are waiting on trolleys at hospital across the country.
