A prominent local Sinn Féin figure is optimistic that the party’s new leadership will help it at the ballot box in Clare.
Last evening saw Michelle O’Neill confirmed as the party’s new Vice-President, weeks after TD Mary Lou McDonald was confirmed as the successor to Gerry Adams.
They’ll now spearhead Sinn Féin into the next election, and the party has already selected Noeleen Morana and Councillor Mike McKee as their candidates in Clare.

It’s the first time in recent memory that two Sinn Féin candidates will be on a General Election ticket in Clare, and MEP Liadh Ní Riada believes they can put in a strong performance here:
