Clare Pubs To Open On Good Friday For First Time In Almost 100 Years

Pubs will open in Clare and across the country today for the first time on Good Friday in almost a century.

Normal trading hours will apply this morning, after the ban on selling alcohol was lifted earlier this year.

The Vintners Federation of Ireland says the pub sector has lost out on 40 million euro because of the restriction.

A number of pubs across the county have indicated that they will remain closed but Clare Chairman of the VFI, Darragh McAllister says for those who don’t, there’s an element of uncertainty around how busy they’ll be:
