Clare Residents Urged To Oppose Waste Burning Licence For Irish Cement

Residents of South- East Clare are being urged to come out in opposition to the planned burning of waste at a Limerick cement plant.

Permission has been granted for Irish Cement to burn a number of materials at their Mungret plant, close to the Clare border, which has led to serious concern about the environmental impact.

A march is taking place at City Hall in Limerick this Sunday against the move.

Claire Keating of the group Limerick Against Pollution, which is behind the march, says it’s vital those in the surrounding areas know the risks.
