Clare’s Junior Minister is calling on the IDA to make it its policy to give regional locations the priority in establishing data centres in Ireland.
The government has today published a document which aims to attract new centres to regions like the MidWest which are under less pressure than Dublin.
Clare has previously been highlighted as a possible location for them, with the local authority putting a callout to landowners late last year to identity sites.
Shannon Airport is also said to be a selling point for Clare, as well as city access, and Fine Gael’s Pat Breen, who’s the Minister with responsibility for data protection, says Clare has been to the forefront of this move:
