Farmers and fishermen in Clare are being urged to get their applications in for the government’s Rural Social Scheme.
The programme supports those on low-incomes in the agriculture sector with a top-up in their social welfare payments, in return for 19.5 hours of community work a week.
This year saw an additional 12 places allocated to Clare under the scheme.
