A three-year plan of works is being drawn up for Clare’s roads.
Later this year, the Council’s Transportation Section is to draw up a list of planned works to cover the years from 2019-2021.
The move comes as it’s expected that the Department will seek such a programme, suggesting a breakaway from the traditional situation whereby roads funding has been announced by government on an annual basis.

The plan will include proposals to improve secondary and tertiary roads.
East Clare Fianna Fáil Councillor Pat Hayes says it’s vital attention is paid to these routes, as well as busier ones.
