The new Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District insists funding to address issues with grass cutting in the town is badly needed.
Independent Councillor Gerry Flynn has been named as the successor to Sinn Féin’s Mike McKee for the 12 months ahead.
He says locals have been growing increasingly concerned about a lack of action on keeping the town looking well in recent times.
