Clare Gardaí do not suspect foul play in the death of former model and socialite Lucy Birley.
The ex-wife of singer Bryan Ferry is believed to have died by suicide while on holiday in Ireland. She was 58.
She passed away at Mount Vernon, an historic house in New Quay owned by her brother Mark.
Gardaí have confirmed that the body of a woman, understood to be Mrs. Birley, was found in New Quay on Monday night and that her body was removed to the Mortuary at University Hospital Limerick.
Her death is not being treated as suspicious, and in a statement confirming her death, her family have said that she had fought a long battle with depression.
Lucy Birley married Bryan Ferry in 1982, and they divorced in 2003. She is survived by her husband Robin and their four sons.
