Countdown On To Clare’s First Trip Back To Croker Since 2013

The count down is on to Clare’s first all-Ireland Hurling Semi-Final since 2013.

The banner takes on defending champions Galway at Croke Park tomorrow, and excitement is buidling in all four corners of the county.

The countdown to tomorrow’s clash of Clare and Galway began two weeks ago, when Clare booked their spot in the All-Ireland semi-final, but the game also marks the end of a five year wait for Clare to return to Croke Park.

The Banner are the underdogs in their clash with the defending champions, but many fans are hopeful that the Saffron and Blue will book their spot in the decider tomorrow evening.

Hurling fever has certainly taken over in parts of the county, but some communities near the boundary between both counties are dealing with divided loyalties.

But Tubber GAA Club member, Tomás Francis, who’s a lifelong Clare fan, is hoping the banner will come out on top.

While people on the streets have been telling Clare FM, they think tomorrow will be Clare’s day.

Meanwhile,

As the build-up to Clare’s return to Croke Park continues, Gardaí in Dublin are issuing traffic advice to those making the journey.

Throw in tomorrow is at 5:00 and around 50,000 people are expected to attend.

For fans travelling to the game, rolling lane closures will be in place between Junctions 9 and 11 of the M7 motorway this weekend, and AA Roadwatch is warning of possible delays on this route.

Sergeant JP Reynolds of Mountjoy Garda Station has been telling Clare FM’s James Mulhall that there’s plenty of parking available but, where possible, people should leave their cars and walk.

We’ll have full build-up on this evening’s Sideline View on Clare FM, from 6pm.
