63 On Trolleys At University Hospital Limerick

Trolley numbers at the region’s main hospital are continuing to spike.

Latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that there were 63 patients without a bed at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 38 of those on trolleys in the ED.

It’s just a slight ease from Friday’s figure of 65 and is more than double that of any other hospital nationwide today.

It comes on a day when 315 patients around the country are waiting on a bed across the country, with UHL accounting for a fifth of those.
