A Clare member of the HSE’s Regional Health Forum West insists a new site for St Joseph’s Hospital in Ennis must include space for expansion down the line.
A new €25 million 100-bed care facility for the elderly is to be constructed on a greenfield site in the county town by the end of 2021.
HSE MidWest has confirmed to Clare FM that they intend to keep dementia-specific and rehabilitation beds at the current site, but a fresh site will be chosen for the new facility due in part to the unsuitability of the existing hospital site.
