Clare’s IFA Chair insists the Department of Agriculture’s beef forum, which was established to tackle the price crisis facing beef farmers, simply isn’t working.
The Irish Farmers Association will hold a protest outside the Department on Kildare Street in Dublin this coming Wednesday, with its president Joe Healy saying farmers have lost patience.
Factories have slashed beef prices to as low as €3.70 per kilo this year which has left many farmers struggling to make ends meet.
