Good Friday Agreement ‘Gone Past Point’ Where It Can Be Tweaked

A former Clare TD insists the Good Friday Agreement has gone past the point where it can be tweaked.

It follows comments by DUP leader Arlene Foster, who told The Telegraph newspaper that the peace treaty could be changed to break the deadlock in reaching a Brexit deal.

She also suggested the agreement wasn’t sacrosant, which led to her being accused of using it as a ‘bargaining chip’.

Tony Killeen, who served as a Fianna Fáil TD in Clare for almost 20 years, says it’s no longer a possibility to adjust the treaty.
