Less than 10% of rented properties in Clare were inspected last year to see if they’re up to standard.
The National Oversight and Audit Commission’s Performance Indicators Report for 2017, also shows that of the 496 rental homes here that were inspected, 7 out of 8 failed.
The latest report from the National Oversight and Audit Commission shows there were 5,084 registered tenancies in the county at the end of June 2017.
Of those, only 496 were inspected, which is just shy of 10% of rental accomodation in the county.
Almost 88% of the properties examined failed inspections, which is less than the number that failed in 2016, when 92% of rented properties were found to be non-compliant.
The NOAC’s Performance Indicators Report also shows that 59 properties became compliant in 2017.
