Nurses says there’s been a slight drop in the numbers waiting on trolleys at the region’s main hospital.
But University Hospital Limerick is still the most overcrowded in the country today.
Latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show that there were 58 patients without a bed there this morning, 35 of those on trolleys in the emergency department.

That’s just a marginal drop on yesterday’s figure of 63 but is still 12 more than the next busiest facility.
