Concern has been expressed for the future of West Clare, if steps aren’t taken to protect the viability of Moneypoint Power Station.
Clare County Council is to write to the ESB, calling for an update from the company on the future of the plant, because of a motion put forward by Councillor Gabriel Keating.
He is concerned that Ireland’s commitment to climate change will see a change in policy at Moneypoint, and has expressed fear for the future of jobs there.
