New figures suggest a low take-up in Clare of a scheme which is designed to help people stay in their homes.
Under the Abhaile scheme, which is operated under the stewardship of the Money Advice and Budgeting Service, or MABS, borrowers who are insolvent and in mortgage arrears are provided with vouchers to allow them access independent financial and legal advice.
The scheme was first announced in late 2016, and since then 319 vouchers for advice have been issued in Clare.

However, that’s higher than only eight other counties, and the total number of vouchers issued stands at over 14,600.
