It’s hoped the entire county of Clare will reap the benefits of a new initiative at the Cliffs of Moher, which encourages tourists to spend a night in the county.
Management at the Cliffs have introduced a mandate which means bus operators bringing loads here must also visit another fee-paying attraction in Clare and introduce an overnight stay option.
Despite 1.6 million visitors travelling to see the renowned Cliffs each year, there has been ongoing concern that the high level of day trippers means Clare is missing out.
