A Kilrush native is preparing to run his 40th Dublin City Marathon this October.
Peadar Nugent, who now lives in Athenry, has competed in every staging of the event since it was first held in 1980.
He’s one of only 13 runners to have taken part in each edition of the Dublin Marathon.
Peadar was speaking at an event in which it was announced that an additional 2,500 entries are being made available for this year’s Dublin Marathon. They go on sale on Monday July 1st.
