Six Month Waits For Rape Crisis MidWest Counselling Services – Report

Rape Crisis MidWest has said that people seeking its counselling services are facing a wait of up to six months.

The Times Ireland Edition reports that the organisation had 63 people waiting for counselling at the end of last year, and that this is the most they’ve had for some time.

A new counsellor has been appointed, it’s still expected that people will have an average wait of four to six months, although the organisation is stressing that people shouldn’t hesitate to get in touch and that it strives to stay in touch with those on its waiting lists.
