The Managing Director of Shannon Airport is expressing hope that extended Frankfurt services will play a part in expanding Shannon’s EU hub access.
German carrier Lufthansa will double its capacity this year, flying direct from Shannon to Frankfurt twice-weekly from May.
It comes as management at Shannon are compiling a plan for the Transport Minister aimed at securing stronger EU access, once Britain leaves the union, taking the current hub of London Heathrow with it.
