The motor industry in Clare and Ireland is continuing to experience a sluggish start to 2019.
SIMI, which represents car dealers throughout the country, has revealed that there’s been a drop of nearly 19% in the sales of new cars in Clare in the first two months of the year.
A total of 1,054 new cars have been registered here in January and February, down from almost 1,300 a year ago.

The figures show growth in the sales of electric and hybrid cars, with a stronger fall in the sale of diesel models.
The industry says it has been negatively impacted by the looming Brexit.
