The Bishop of Killaloe insists the vast majority of parents favour retaining a Catholic ethos in our schools.
A survey carried out in Ennis by the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board found that there was 10% interest among parents in non-denominational education.
It follows a call from the Labour Party for religious control to be removed from our schooling system.
