Clare’s Independent TD insists the new GP contract agreed by the government and the Irish Medical Organisation gives hope to struggling family doctors.
The €210 million agreement will see significant investment across a number of sectors within General Practice over the next four years.
It includes a 10% increase in the allowance for rural GP care, while €80 million will be available for the management of chronic diseases like diabetes.
