The eyes of the world were fixed like never before on the village of Doonbeg yesterday as it hosts President Donald Trump and his wife Melania, as part of their visit this week to a series of engagements in Europe.
While there was huge speculation that Mr Trump and the First Lady might make a trip into the village last night, it was actually Donald’s sons Eric and Don Jr that made an appearance, visiting all four pubs in the village and thanking local people for their support of the Trump International Golf Resort.

Trump met Taoiseach Leo Varadkar at Shannon Airport as Airforce One touched down on the tarmac at around a quarter to 5 last evening. Gavin Grace was among the delegation of international media covering that meeting.
