Popular Kildysart Priest To Be Laid To Rest

The funeral takes place today of popular Kildysart priest Monsignor Michael O’Grady.

Monsignor O’Grady, who attended St. Flannan’s College and played Gaelic Games for Clare in his youth, served as a priest in the US state of Arizona from 1958 but always maintained his links with Clare, and his native Kildysart.

He passed away last weekend, and is survived by his sister Rose, along with nephews, nieces, and a wider circle of family and friends.

He will be laid to rest following funeral mass in St. Michael’s Church, Kildysart at 2 o’clock this afternoon – it’s understood a number of people have travelled to Clare from Arizona to pay their final respects to him.
