Clare County Council’s being accused of treating Shannon like ‘the poor relation’ in terms of maintenance and support for the efforts of the Tidy Towns committee.
In a strongly worded letter, seen by Clare FM, the group says that as a major contributor in terms of rates, Shannon should be getting far more support to enhance the locality.
Members of the Tidy Towns committee are appealing to local politicians, and to the five Oireachtas members to make representations on the issue, ‘at the highest levels in Clare County Council’.
