There’s been a major increase in the number of IDA site visits in Clare in the first six months of this year.
Figures from IDA Ireland show that 17 visits by prospective foreign investors have taken place in this county since January – already four more than all of last year.
Latest figures from the IDA show that of the total of 17 site visits from potential foreign investors in Clare so far this year – 12 of those occurred between April and June alone.
It means the first half of this year has already surpassed the 2018 total of 13.
In addition, only two of the past ten years have seen more visits in total than the 17 seen so far in 2019.
While this year’s figure to date is one of the best in recent years, it’s still some way off the 2017 total of 22 visits but should this pace of interest in Clare continue, it could mean 2019 is on track to surpass that.
The IDA, meanwhile, says it should be noted that site visits are only one measure of a company’s interest in particular locations and may not be a true reflection of the overall level of foreign direct investment activity in a county.
