Clare FM’s first live game turned into a thriller as Ballyea came from behind to secure an opening round victory after extra-time in Cusack Park.
Two Peter Duggan goals gave Clooney/Quin a 2-11 to 0-10 lead on 36 minutes before Tadhg Lynch’s goal started a comeback.
It finished 1-18 to 2-15 in normal time but goals from Tony Kelly and Niall Deasy ensured Ballyea took the spoils.
