The show opened with a discussion with Michael McNamara, farmer, barrister and former Labour Party TD for Clare, of two of the week’s biggest issues – protesting beef farmers and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s ‘prorouging’ of parliament.

Then, Pat Flynn, who was in the hot seat, heard from Mags Naughton, Clare nurse with The Jack & Jill Foundation about fundraising efforts for the organisation, including the ‘Up the Hill for Jack and Jill’ event on September 22. There’s more details of this exciting event on www.jackandjill.ie

After than, Pat heard from the CEO of Milford Hospice, Pat Quinlan, about the 34th Harvest Fair.

Then, Steve Wall from The Stunning joined Pat to look ahead to the band’s only Clare gig this year which takes place at The Marquee in Lisdoonvarna, as The Matchmaking Festival gets underway.

Senator Maria Byrne was Pat’s next guest, as she joined the show to discuss her concerns about Bus Éireann’s prominent advertising in the midwest of its services to Dublin Airport. She described the move as ‘a nail in the coffin’ for Shannon Airport.

Then, Clare FM’s own Chris Hanrahan joined Pat in studio ahead of the Clarecastle Show, which takes place on Saturday next (Aug 31).
