Morning Focus heard from an extraordinary woman who walked hundreds of miles from her home in Cork to Leinster House to secure access for her sick daughter to medicinal cannabis.
Vera Twomey’s daughter Ava has a rare condition which can cause up to 20 epileptic seizures a day and, after trying in vain to make her case to the Department of Health, Vera walked all the way to the capital to raise awareness of her case.

The great news is that little Ava is now doing very well after the family secured permission to travel to Holland to get her medication. And Vera’s written about the whole experience in a new booked called ‘For Ava’. Listen back below:
