US Vice President Mike Pence has mingled with the locals in his ancestral home of Doonbeg this evening.
A throng of Secret Service personnel accompanied Mr Pence and his wife Karen, along with his mother Nancy and sister Ann, as they arrived in the West Clare village following his high-profile meeting with the Taoiseach in Dublin.

The Pences are dining with their distant cousin Hugh McNally, who runs Morrissey’s Pub in the village this evening, before they depart from Shannon Airport tomorrow.
Before dinner, the Vice President met with the waiting crowds and shared stories of his time in the village in the 1980s.
