The level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is continuing to climb this week.
The latest INMO figures show 71 patients were left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 38 of those on trolleys in the emergency department.
The overall figure is more than double the next busiest facility in the country.
