70 Patients On Trolleys At UHL

The high level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital is persisting as the week progresses.

The latest INMO figures show 70 patients have been left waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 37 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is a drop of only 1 on yesterday’s figure and is 19 more than the next busiest hospital in the country today.

The UL Hospitals Group has appealed in recent weeks for people not to attend the ED in Dooradoyle, unless it’s an emergency and to contact your GP first, or attend the Injury Unit at Ennis General, where possible.
