Clare Ambulance Drivers Join Dáil Protest Over Union Representation

Ambulance drivers are threatening to intensify their campaign of strike action, if a resolution isn’t found to their ongoing row over union representation.

Workers from Clare are among those protesting outside the Dáil this lunchtime, in light of the HSE’s refusal to allow the Psychiatric Nurses Association to represent them, and to recognise another union.

Siptu also represents some ambulance staff.

Ambulance drivers have taken part in eight days of industrial action so far this year and four protests.

The PNA’s Midwest Representative Derek O’Brien has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that they’re willing to continue their action until a resolution is found.
