The level of money paid by Clare business owners to the county council is set for a shake-up.
The Valuation Office has commenced a rates revaluation in six counties, including Clare, as part of a nationwide sweep of rates.
It will mean every commercial and industrial property in the county will be examined, in order to see if the occupiers are paying a fair rate to the council.
Every commercial property in Clare is required to pay a certain rate, depending on the value of the property, with that payment helping to fund the day-to-day running of the local authority.
